When I tell you “I am busy”, chances are I ain’t.
Because
1, I just came back from a Twitter trolling or a YouTube binge. Before that, I was stuck with the Podcasts like “The Art of Building Your Monopoly”, wondering how they can stretch the two words, “faithful” and “persistent” into a one-hour talk.
I feel guilty now. Don’t know since when, staying idle is a waste of life, unplugging becomes a symbol of low value. I can’t let the world know this is my status. I MUST be busy. So when you call, I must set the status quo first. “I AM BUSY.” I have a lot on my plate. I am driven by the hunger for the dystopian status, the hunger out of guilt.
We both know, though, it won’t last for long.
2, I am afraid of missing out on self-growth. Every motivational speaker is telling me, “Make sure you are better than yesterday.” We can’t make sure if we do nothing. The unread books on the shelf are collecting dust. The number of tutorial videos on my YouTube channel is growing.
Warren Buffet reads 500 pages every day. Obama worked out for one hour every day when he was in the White House. If they have time, we have too. We can’t share their wealth and talent, so let’s first share their habits. Only…
